TRAININGS
Statement By CAA Chief
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected almost all areas of life from a whole nation’s financial situation to an individual’s mental state. Among all, aviation industry is one of the hardest hit sectors. We were also not being able to conduct academy’s regular training activities during the first two years of COVID-19 impact. As the situation is improving from last year, we now come up in a position to conduct regular training programs and bringing this Civil Aviation Academy (CAA) Calendar for the fiscal year 2079/80 BS. (2022/2023). CAA is committed towards the safety, efficiency and sustainability of aviation system and is exerting all its efforts to providing quality trainings as per national and international requirements and supporting the development of competent and qualified aviation personnel in the civil aviation sector. For this, CAA is delivering trainings to the aviation personnel like: air traffic controllers, flight dispatchers, airline pilots and air traffic services electronic personnel as a pre-requisite of the personnel licensing requirements of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and also delivering other security and safety related trainings to meet CAAN’S international obligations. As an integral part of the CAAN, the Academy has been producing trained human resources in the field of air traffic service, and aerodrome rescue and firefighting services to meet the human resource need of CAAN and also providing other trainings as per the demand of the aviation industry. CAA has fulfilled most of the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS requirements and made significant progress during assessment. CAA continues to work to improve quality by developing standardized training packages (STPs) in accordance with ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS guidance, developing competent trainers and upgrading training facilities to meet international standards. Further, we are in the process of installing a new state-of-the-art 3D ATC simulator and expanding the training capacity to meet the growing demands of domestic and international trainings. In recent years, we have been receiving international training demand, especially from Bhutan. Overall, we are committed to developing a system of CAA that will ultimately lead to the establishment of an internationally recognized ‘Academy of Excellence’.
